Privacy policy

CarSage is an iPhone app that provides guide valuations for used cars in your country's market. This policy explains how your data is processed, both in the app and on this website, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we do not ask you to create an account. When you open the app, an anonymous session is created and managed with Supabase (our backend provider), for the sole purpose of linking your valuations to your device while you use the app. We do not know who you are.

In order to value your car we process:

• The car details you enter: make, model, year, fuel and mileage.
• The photos of the car you upload (exterior, interior and any dents or scratches).
• Minimal technical data for the app to work: the anonymous session identifier and the status of your subscription.

We use this data solely to generate your valuation and show you the report. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it to third parties.

In order to detect damage, your photos are processed by an artificial intelligence provider (OpenAI). This step is necessary in order to calculate the valuation.

The first time you run a valuation we explain this and ask for your consent inside the app before any image is sent. If you do not accept, the photos are not sent. OpenAI processes the images for the requested analysis; they are not used to identify you.

The CarSage backend runs on Supabase. That is where your car details, your photos and the result of the valuation are stored, linked to your anonymous session, for as long as is necessary to provide you with the service.

The Pro subscription is purchased and managed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to check the status of your subscription and unlock the Pro features.

Payment is processed by Apple: CarSage neither sees nor stores your card details or payment method.

We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not track you across apps or websites, we do not embed advertising analytics SDKs and we do not share your data with data brokers. CarSage shows no ads.

We keep your data for as long as is necessary to provide you with the service. You can delete your valuations and your data at any time from the app itself (the delete data / account option).

If you prefer, write to us at soporte@carsage.app and we will take care of deleting your data.

You can exercise the following rights over your data at any time:

• Access to the data we process about you.
• Rectification of inaccurate data.
• Erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”).
• Objection to and restriction of processing.
• Portability of the data you have provided to us.

As this is an anonymous session, the quickest route is to use the deletion option inside the app or to write to us at soporte@carsage.app. If you consider that we have not dealt with your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es), which is the supervisory authority for the data controller; if you reside in the European Economic Area, you can also do so before the supervisory authority of your own country.

CarSage is available in several markets and always compares against the listings of the country of your App Store account. It is not aimed at minors.

If we update this policy, we will change the date shown above and, where relevant, let you know inside the app.
